This course introduces the early stages of the U.S. customs entry process, focusing on how brokers initiate transactions and prepare for compliant import clearance. Learners will examine the file initiation process, including manual tasks, workflow steps, and the importer information and standing instructions required before filing an entry. The course also covers essential entry prerequisites such as importer bonds and CBP Form 5106 requirements, helping participants understand when bond coverage is needed and how importer identification data must be established in CBP systems. By the end of the course, learners will understand how to properly prepare and launch a customs clearance transaction from initial setup through entry readiness.
