Course Overview
This course provides a practical overview of a freight forwarder’s responsibilities in U.S. export compliance. Learners will explore how to apply the EAR, FTR, and related agency rules to ensure accurate EEI filings, maintain required export records, and coordinate shipment data among all responsible parties. The course also examines when a forwarder may assume the role of exporter or license applicant, how to keep licenses, AES filings, and transport documents aligned, and how to avoid the risks associated with acting as a nominal shipper. Finally, learners will review proper handling of shipment information requests and learn how to work with senior management and legal counsel when responding to government or law-enforcement inquiries.
