Course Overview
This course examines key aspects of ocean forwarder liability, risk management, and carrier selection. Topics include liability limitations, protecting sensitive information, and handling shipments for foreign agents. Participants will explore criteria for selecting ocean carriers, the forwarder’s relationship with NVOCCs, and the shared risk dynamics between shippers and vessel operators. The course also covers international rules governing ocean carriage, carrier liability, and the role of cargo insurance in mitigating door-to-door shipment risks.
